Congrats, my first E46 made it almost 68k miles before I wrecked it. I have one now with just over 121k now. They are pretty hard to kill with regular maintenance.

Yeah man. Ive had it about 2 years, and it’s the most reliable car I’ve ever owned.

Next one I buy will be a straight track toy. Consumables are cheap enough, definitely enough speed to put some hurt on P-cars with my old one.

Ive kind of considered putting some more power into mine, but I just love it bone stock. Its fast enough for me.

I mean more power is nice, CSL air box would be my only major mod to hear the engine so much better.

My yellow E46 had Supersprint headers, high-flow cats and a Supersprint Sport rear can. It gave such amazing sounds (early cold starts made me popular in my neighborhood) at the high revs. Only thing I would have added was the air box to complete the amazing induction and exhaust sound.

Ive been meaning to ask for deets on your Z06. Year? Mileage? How’s it been to own?

I'm hoping to get a C6 next year

Yeah, I did exhaust. I have a buddy who’s an exhaust genius, so he put together a system for me. I’m actually running the rear end off a Camaro SS system. It’s about half the weight of the fancy M3 setups.

It’s awesome, man. I highly recommend it. It’s an ‘07 with only about 25k on it. I don’t remember what the trims are called, but it’s the lower of the two. I didn’t want the screen on the dash. It’s perfect for a screwin’-around car. I wouldn’t recommend it for a daily. The visability sucks, it’s a mile wide, the transmission tunnel gets to about a thousand degrees after 20 miles, and it’s a pretty harsh ride. But it’s fun as hell. It’s scary fast. The rear end breaks loose if you look at it wrong, but it’s super predictable and easy to power yourself out of trouble. Honestly, I don’t have the skill to get all the performance out of it, but I’ve never driven a car that’s as much fun in a rip-roarin’, tire shreddin’, smoke makin’, motor screamin’, big, brash, ridiculous sort of way.

I’m not going to go for a Z06, just a base with Z51. Grand Sport would be ideal, but a bit pricey. It's a little worrisome you say it's a bad daily, if I get it it'll be my daily for at least a little while. I was planning on getting it in the spring/summer and using it as a daily until late fall when I'd pick up something else as a winter cars

The plain vanilla C6 is way better. I’ve had a few friends who’ve DDed them. It’s still wide and tough to see out of, but the center console never turns to magma, and the ride is way smoother. Also, you’re not dealing with 500 hp on a hair-trigger all the time. The rear hatch is roomier than you’d think too.
